Terms of Service

For Botler. Last updated: on release.

These terms are the rental agreement between you and Harfred Labs ("we", "us"), the operator of Botler, for booking a robot through the app or website. By making a booking you accept them. Please read the note below about what Botler is today before you do.

What Botler is right now

The current product is an illustrative demonstration. Its robots, fleet, availability and bookings run on seeded, simulated data — there is no real fleet behind it, and no booking made today results in an actual robot being delivered. We built it this way to show how the service would work. Nothing in these terms should be read as a promise of a real delivery until Botler is operating commercially, at which point these terms will be updated to match.

Who can book

You must be an adult authorised to arrange access to the service address you give us. The address must fall inside a service area we currently operate in — the app checks this before a booking can proceed. If an address is outside our service area, we cannot accept the booking.

Duration and pricing

Bookings run for a minimum duration and in increments shown to you in the app at the time of booking (currently a two-hour minimum in 30-minute steps); these figures are configurable on our end and may change. The price shown before you confirm — including any delivery fee, estimated surcharges or other line items — is the price you pay, aside from anything you separately add afterwards, such as an extension.

Payment

Payment method details are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Botler does not process real charges today; in a commercial release, payment would be handled by a licensed payment provider under its own terms, and we would never see or store your full card details.

Cancellation

Our cancellation policy is configurable and always shown to you before you confirm a cancellation — for example, "Cancel for free until 9:00 AM" or "Cancelling now will incur a $30 fee." You will never be charged a cancellation fee you were not shown first.

Extensions

You can extend an active booking from within the app. The available extension lengths and the additional cost are shown before you confirm the extension, and extending is subject to the robot remaining available for the extra time.

Substitution

If the specific robot assigned to your booking becomes unavailable, we will offer you either an equivalent robot at the same price or, where only a different-capability robot is available, an alternative at a clearly stated price difference. You will always see and accept the substitute before it applies — you will not be defaulted into a change you have not seen.

Your responsibilities

You agree to:

Our responsibilities and limits

We will make reasonable efforts to have a suitable robot arrive within the window shown, keep you informed of its status, and resolve any incident you report. We do not guarantee availability of any specific robot, model or time slot — availability depends on the fleet at the time of booking and can change.

To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties beyond those a reasonable customer would expect from a service at this stage of development. Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee, warranty or right that Australian Consumer Law does not permit us to exclude, and those guarantees apply regardless of anything written here.

Damage and incidents

Report any damage, malfunction or safety concern through the app's incident reporting, as soon as you reasonably can. What Botler covers in the event of damage caused by a robot, or damage caused to a robot, is to be confirmed in the commercial release of this service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, arising from your use of Botler. This section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.

Ending this agreement

You may stop using Botler at any time. We may end this agreement, or decline or cancel a booking, if you materially breach these terms — for example, by asking a robot to perform an excluded task or by providing unsafe access. Provisions that by their nature should survive — responsibilities for damage already caused, disclaimers, liability limits — do.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service develops, particularly as it moves from demonstration to commercial operation. The current version is always on this page with its date. If a change materially reduces your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, or of your right to bring a claim there.
